Getting Started with Stacks Wars

Follow these steps to set up your account and start playing.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• A Leather or Xverse wallet installed on your browser
• STX tokens to deposit (test STX on testnet is fine for trying it out)
• A supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)

Install a Wallet

Leather Wallet

1. Visit leather.io
2. Click "Install Leather" and follow the browser extension setup
3. Create a new wallet or import an existing one
4. Save your recovery phrase securely

Xverse Wallet

1. Visit xverse.app
2. Download the extension for your browser
3. Complete the wallet setup process
4. Store your seed phrase safely

Creating Your Account

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

1. Visit the Stacks Wars platform at stacks-wars.com
2. Click the "Connect Wallet" button
3. Choose either Leather or Xverse
4. Your wallet extension will pop up - review the connection request
5. Click "Connect" to authorize the connection

Step 2: Complete Your Profile

After wallet connection, you'll see the profile creation form:

• Username - Choose a unique username (3-20 characters, alphanumeric)
• Avatar - Upload a profile picture or select a default avatar
• Bio (optional) - Tell other players about yourself

Click "Create Profile" to finish setup.

Step 3: Explore the Lobby

You're now ready to play!

• View the Leaderboards to see top players and their Wars Points
• Check Active Games to find lobbies you can join
• Click "Create Lobby" to start your own game session

Depositing STX

When you join a game, you'll need to deposit your stake:

1. Click "Join Game" on a lobby
2. Enter your bet amount in STX
3. Click "Approve Deposit" - your wallet will ask for transaction confirmation
4. Your STX is transferred to the Vault contract and held securely
5. Once confirmed, the game begins!

Claiming Your Winnings

After you win a game:

1. The server generates a signed result proving you won
2. Click "Claim Prize" on the game results screen
3. Review the amount and confirm in your wallet
4. Your winnings are transferred to your wallet instantly

Note: It typically takes 10 blocks (~30 minutes) for STX transactions to finalize on mainnet.

Troubleshooting

Q: My wallet won't connect

• Ensure your wallet extension is installed and unlocked
• Try refreshing the page
• Check that you're using a supported browser

Q: I don't see my deposited STX

• STX deposits take 1-2 blocks to confirm
• Check the transaction status on Explorer.Stacks.co
• Contact support if it takes longer than 5 minutes

Q: Can I withdraw my funds?

• You can only withdraw unclaimed deposits by canceling a pending game
• Winnings claimed through the vault are final
